Let’s keep reusable, repairable items out of the landfill!
We're working together to build a Community ReUse Center in the Capital Region. Our aim is for everyone in the community to enjoy and partake in the services offered by the Center.
About Capital District ReUse
Inspired by Finger Lakes ReUse, "Capital District ReUse" aims to establish a comprehensive, community-based reuse center that will encompass redistribution of goods, deconstruction and building materials reuse, ongoing repair opportunities, and a workforce development component for the underemployed. This center will serve as a hub for donated items from clothing to furniture, housewares to construction materials. By diverting reusable items from the waste stream, we aim to reduce landfill waste and greenhouse gas emissions, promote a culture of zero waste, and provide affordable goods to the community. Additionally, Capital District ReUse hopes to offer educational workshops and job training on repair and upcycling, as well as deconstruction and electronics recycling.
We want your input and help! Please fill out this short survey and let us know your vision for a ReUse Center!
